Timber production in Tanzania in 2000 totaled 39.8 million cu m (1.4 billion cu ft), nearly all of which was used as fuel. Timber includes camphor, podo, and African mahogany. The fish catch in 1997 was 357,210 metric tons, most of which was caught in inland waters, especially Lake Victoria. Sardines and tuna were caught in the Indian Ocean.
